Cheapest quote was $195k and didn't include everything they really wanted it to. If they had decided to go down the extension path they would have an old home at the front and would still require considerable maintenance due to the weather board constructionread more

We have been experiencing an increased number of enquiries
from the Northcote area for knock down rebuilds lately. Most of the them
have been dual occupancy queries and are proving to be very cost
effective. The clients have several scenarios, easier care for older
family members, rental income and the sale of the second dwelling to help
contribute to the financing of the owners retained home. By doing a
knock down rebuild, all of the above scenarios are covered.

By renovating an old home that has little or no energy efficiency and replacing it with a minimum 6 star rating new home makes sense.
Not only is the environment the winner but the new home owner can save money on energy costs and have peace of mind their new home is having a lower impact on the environment.

The meeting was held at a Berstan Homesread more
